Benefits of Mattress Recycling

WHY YOUR MATTRESS OR FURNITURE SHOULD BE RECYCLED

Have you purchased a new bed recently, or simply want to dispose an old mattress or unused furniture, and don’t know what to do with them? Instead of leaving old mattresses in front of your house, which can attract insects, bedbugs, and be an eyesore to anyone who walks by, why not recycle them? In Vancouver, B.C., Canada, recycling mattresses and large furniture is becoming easier, more popular, and most importantly, more affordable.

HOW MATTRESS & FURNITURE RECYCLING HELPS OUR ENVIRONMENT

When people throw mattresses away, these items take up space in local landfills. And when these mattresses, beds, and furniture are discarded, some release harmful chemicals, which seep into groundwater and affect people and the environment. Likewise, metal bed springs corrode quickly when exposed to moisture and air, and these toxins can potentially contaminate our soils and water. Mattresses and wood are also flammable.

WHAT WE DO AT CANADIAN MATTRESS RECYCLING

At Canadian Mattress Recycling, we recycle mattresses and reduce the pollution normally caused by dumping mattresses in landfills. We recycle mattresses and furniture such as futons, armchairs, couches, bed frames, and other appliances at affordable prices. Furniture and mattress recycling is our way of helping local charities and the environment.

OUR PICKUP SERVICES ARE QUICK, SIMPLE, AND AFFORDABLE.

We offer pickup mattress and furniture pickup services in Vancouver and across the Lower Mainland. Customers don’t need to worry about bringing in beds or furniture – because we have amazing employees that can get the job done. When you book a pickup with us, we stand by our quotes, and you don’t have to worry about hidden costs, extra payments, or surcharges.

HOW WE RECYCLE

Before your mattress or furniture is recycled, we take them apart and separate the parts, preparing for recycling. If the bed or furniture is wet, saturated, moldy, rusty, or untreated, or if the mattress or frame has bed bugs or insects in them, we can’t recycle them.

After we separate your mattresses or furniture, we donate the boxes and other parts of beds to animal shelters and rescue centers across British Columbia. These materials are reused as recycled pet beds, floor cushions, felt pads, furniture legs, and more, and we also regularly make cash donations to communities and organizations in Vancouver, B.C.

HOW WE GIVE BACK LOCALLY

We’re proud to be donating and giving away recycled materials seven days a week – and supporting a variety of environmental projects across Canada. If you’re thinking of donating used or old beds and furniture yourself to charities, leave it to us! The beds may be contaminated by bed bugs or other insects, or it might be structurally too weak to reuse as is. So we ensure the items we donate are structurally sound, else we repurpose them into pet beds, floor cushions, and more, for local animal shelters.

When people recycle mattresses and furniture, we take action against climate change. Reducing waste in Canada and abroad improves our environment and helps reduce pollution and the contamination of water supplies.

So let’s recycle – and help our environment!
