In 2012, Canadian Mattress Recycling donated $250.00 to the Justin Morneau Scholarship, awarded by New Westminster Baseball to a graduating student-baseball player to help with their post-secondary education costs.

About the Association

New Westminster Baseball Association (NWBA) is a volunteer-run organization founded in 1952. The organization continues to provide a fun, fair, and positive environment for student-athletes to develop their potential. Their students are committed to excellent performance on the field, and in the classroom and community. Elementary and high school students participate in the organization’s four divisions and develop athletic, teamwork, and leadership skills.

About the Justin Morneau Scholarship

Justin Morneau, an MLB all-star, grew up in New Westminster. He has supported grassroots baseball in his hometown, and donates new batting gloves to the NWBA. His scholarship, awarded since 2009, have allowed senior high school students pursue and attend post-secondary studies in an apprenticeship, trade, college, or university program.
